The outer zone of the new location is a dangerous area where you will face a constant risk of freezing. This mechanic introduces a new level of difficulty, requiring careful planning and preparation.
The entire zone is divided into three sections, each with its own unique characteristics.
In every zone, the player can accumulate different levels of frostbite. This is a negative status effect that reduces a character’s combat attributes.
Frostbite Debuffs The freezing system includes
four levels, each increasing the severity of negative effects:
- Minor Frostbite: reduces MP/HP/CP regeneration by 10%.
- Frostbite: decreases movement speed by 10%, attack speed and casting speed by 3%, and drains 10 HP every second.
- Severe Frostbite: decreases movement speed by 25%, attack and magic power by 10%, and deals 25 HP damage every second.
- Extreme Frostbite: maximum movement speed reduction, increases skill cooldown by 150%, and causes 100 HP loss every second.
The most effective way to fight the cold is by using
Bonfires.
Every player receives
100 Bonfire Frames upon entering the game and can place them in any zone. Bonfires have several useful properties:
- Completely neutralize all negative frostbite effects.
- Significantly increase HP/MP/CP regeneration.
- Last for 10 minutes once placed.
- Are vulnerable to attacks from local monsters, who try to destroy them.
A special feature of the event zone is that bonfires
cannot be prepared in advance —
all materials required for crafting them (
Dry Firewood and
Flint) can only be gathered inside the location, and they disappear once you leave the zone.
To survive, it is recommended to form groups, take turns placing bonfires, and protect them from monsters. Coordinated teamwork greatly increases your chances of survival and makes farming rare monsters and resources much more efficient.
To place a bonfire, use a
Bonfire Frame — double-click to place the frame, after which you will need
7 Dry Firewood and
1 Flint to ignite it.
Be careful: only
one Bonfire or Frame can be placed at a time, and the frame will disappear after 20 seconds if it is not ignited in time.
In addition to bonfires, there are 3 types of protective outfits:
- Eskimo Protective Suit — Fully protects in the initial zone, partially protects in the middle zone.
- NEW! Insulated Eskimo Suit — Fully protects in the initial and middle zones, partially protects in the Extreme zone.
- NEW! Polar Eskimo Suit — Fully protects in all zones.
To craft the new outfits, you will need new materials:
- Frost Trickster Fur — obtained from the Frost Trickster monster, found in all zones.
- Coldgnaw Hide — obtained from the Coldgnaw monster, found in all zones.
The new outfits can be crafted at Santa NPC.
In this zone, players encounter minor frostbite, which deals minimal damage and slightly reduces movement speed.
To completely avoid frostbite, you must use the
Eskimo Protective Suit, which provides full protection from the cold at this stage.
In the initial zone, players can also find an
Eternal Bonfire, which will help you warm up at the start of your journey!
In the middle zone, frostbite becomes more dangerous and can reach the second and third levels. You start taking more significant damage, and your stats deteriorate.
The
Eskimo Protective Suit only helps partially — it protects only from level-1 frostbite.
Here you can equip the
Insulated Eskimo Suit, which fully protects from level-1 and level-2 frostbite, and partially protects from levels 3–4.
You must monitor your time spent here and be prepared for new challenges.
Creatures here are several times stronger than in the initial zone — but the rewards are fitting as well!
This is the harshest and most unpredictable part of the location. Frostbite reaches its maximum level here, and the only temporary protection comes from the
Insulated Eskimo Suit, while the
Polar Eskimo Suit provides full protection.
Bonfires can also help you survive.
In addition, this area contains the most dangerous creatures with the best and rarest drops!
The monsters in Crystal Cave are divided into three groups of difficulty, the more severe the temperature zone - the stronger the creatures there inhabit. Do not forget that all creatures can’t stand the heat - and will try to destroy the fires you have installed!
.In all the cold zones of the event you can meet incredibly fast creatures with a great reward! They rarely stand and prefer to run away from everyone. Try to catch them and get a great reward! Your attention - Frosty the Dogger & Coldcracker.
Frosty the Dogger & Coldcracker
In the open area of the cave, you will notice Ice Chests. In fact, this is a full-fledged replacement for the Magic Chests that were previously located throughout Elmoraden. Only now the reward is cooler, the chests are concentrated in one location, and the respawn is random.
Ice Key – a special key that you will need to open chests that are located throughout the Crystal Cave location. The key can be purchased from NPC Lars in the Winter Fishing shop, or obtained by activating a daily promo code
